I am currently working on a really good article about Inspiration and (coincidentally) Steve Jobs. In that article, I plan to explain how we can seek inspiration from Jobs’ work ethics, his dynamic attitude towards life, his love towards what he does and everything else. Until that surfaces out, let us look into those articles which have been making some rounds on my Twitter stream lately.

Ever since the first books were written and published centuries ago, the primary goal of typography was readability. It does not matter how pretty a page layout is or how unique a font selection is, if the typography makes the information on the page harder to read, the page has failed in its main duty : to transfer information to the reader in an efficient manner.
Typography encompasses the reality of effective web design and achieves success in creating web page identity and the enhancement of visual appearance. Typography is much more than the “art of text”, it’s the evolution of creativity within simple to intricate web designs. Just as a good architecture needs great foundation, similarly a good blog is a result of unique content supported by the use of eye-catching typography. Typography leaves you with the option of bringing together simple creativity with unique and effective communication in order to get your blog or sites main focus across.

I cannot imagine anyone who doesn’t love typefaces. It is in the air we breathe, the food we eat and the things we see. Well, not literally but that’s how we express our love towards typography. In typography, a typeface is a set of one or more fonts, in one or more sizes, designed with stylistic unity, each comprising a coordinated set of glyphs. A typeface usually comprises an alphabet of letters, numerals, and punctuation marks; it may also include ideograms and symbols, or consist entirely of them, for example, mathematical or map-making symbols.
The term typeface is frequently conflated with font. The distinction between font and typeface is that a font designates a specific member of a type family such as roman, boldface, or italic type, while typeface designates a consistent visual appearance or style which can be a “family” or related set of fonts. For example, a given typeface such as Arial may include roman, bold, and italic fonts.

In this tutorial, we will learn how to create an animal inspired fur typography. Typography has always been an inspiration. After writing an article about the most inspirational typography, I was quite eager to try the fur typography, which I happened to see in Behance, quite some time ago. As i was experimenting with some brushes in Photoshop, I realized that it had a default ‘Grass’ brush which could be easily used to create this awesome typography. So, I sat down and experimented and this is what I came up with. Just for information, I am totally against cruelty to animals. I think these innocent and poor animals need compassion as they mean no harm to us and help us maintain the balance of life in nature. Well, I hope people realize that and help them survive and breed like they desire to be. Anyways, Let us move on the the tutorial now. I also have plans of releasing an awesome Safari inspired Social Icon set in a day or two. So, keep watching this space :)
