45+ absolutely stunning examples of light graffiti
Light painting is one of the best known techniques in photography and is usually only carried out by enthusiasts and professional photographers. It’s a technique that is primarily used at night outdoors to make scenes look more dramatic than they would under normal conditions. Light painting is not a new thing either, it’s a technique that has been used for over 100 years.
Light painting, also known as light drawing or light graffiti is a photographic technique in which exposures are made usually at night or in a darkened room by moving a hand-held light source or by moving the camera. Using a slow shutter speed allows for a completely different style of photography – from light painting to capturing smooth water effects. In this article, I have shared some of the best light painting photography there is. I have also provided a few links on how to create such awesome light paintings. Lots of inspiration to seek from the links.
Making a light painting doesn’t necessarily need to be done in a dark room or at night. Sometimes using artificial light, like LEDs and mobile phones, or through the limited sunlight beaming in a curtained room creates a shadowing effect. Using a mirror creates a double image, which adds up to a more creative result.
Here are some cool links which will teach you how to create such awesome photography :

Very cool selection. I am hoping to make the dive into the DSLR world and have always been fascinated by the effects long exposure's create. I think I may have to have a go at doing some light graffiti myself.
Great post.

Wow, this is beautiful!!! Thanks for the info, pictures & links. I'm old school & love photography. It's been over a decade since I've used my Mamiya to create traffic 'paint' in Paris, France. You have inspired me to dust it off & go create something just as spectacular.
